Asking questions

[edit]

Every page has a Discussion, reached from the tab at the top left. It is not a wiki page: you post messages into topics and reply to each other, and nobody can rewrite what you said. Use it to raise a problem with an article rather than arguing inside the article itself.

You do not need an account to post; messages from people without one are signed Anonymous. Nothing needs signing by hand: every message records its own author and time. Special:Discussions shows recent activity across the whole site.

Conventions

[edit]
  • Article titles are singular and unadorned: Octopus, not "Octopuses" or "The octopus".
  • The first sentence of an article should say plainly what the subject is, with the title in bold.
  • Sections use == Level two == headings; the article title is the only level-one heading.
  • Categories go at the bottom of the page.
