President of the United States is the head of state and head of government of the United States. The president leads the executive branch of the federal government and serves as the Commander-in-Chief of the United States Armed Forces.
The president is elected through the United States presidential election and serves a four-year term. Under the Twenty-Second Amendment to the United States Constitution, a president may be elected to the office no more than twice. The president works with the United States Congress and the Supreme Court of the United States as part of the federal government's system of separation of powers.
