International Monetary Fund (IMF) is an international financial organization that promotes global monetary cooperation and financial stability. It was established in 1944 at the Bretton Woods Conference and is headquartered in Washington, D.C.

The IMF provides economic surveillance, policy advice, financial assistance, and technical assistance to its member countries. Its activities are intended to support economic stability, facilitate international trade, and help countries address balance of payments problems.
